When and why to donate

SPHDS - like most private Jewish schools - has a funding gap, which means that tuition fees do not cover the entire cost of operating the school. This gap varies year over year, but is generally between 15% and 20% of the total budget.

 

Grassroots donations - from parents, alumni and community members - are necessary to cover a significant portion of this gap. The remainder is covered by general operating grants from Jewish philanthropies, foundations and local federations.
