Arts

SPHDS goals for the Art department is to encourage individual creativity.

Every child is creative and imaginative. Art is a place for students to explore and reflect who they are through paint, clay, sculpture, wood work, collage, story making, story telling and much more.

Our school strives to create an environment in the class room that is relaxing and enjoyable with an edge of challenge, so students will endeavor new mediums and technique with the material at hand.

SPHDS believes there should be a place in school, where there is no right or wrong. Art is simply an interpretation of their inner and outer world.

The students encounter works of great artists of history through very present day of post-modernism. Jewish values, holidays and history are woven into the curriculum. We acknowledge each other's art work and notice each person's unique response and experience.
