Route description:

100-K route (62 miles):
The Foothill Century offers two moderate routes around the beautiful Silicon Valley foothills. It is perfect for those who have completed the Cinderella Century or are working toward their first full century. The routes takes you down Foothill Expressway to Alameda de las Pulgas in Redwood City. After a nice climb up Edgewood Road, you will travel along scenic Canada Road to Crystal Springs Reservoir and back to Woodside. The route continues with a beautiful ride along the Portola Loop, over Arastradero to Page Mill and then a leisurely return through the stately homes of Los Altos Hills. A delicious meal awaits you upon your return. The 100K route will have three rest stops with water, fruit and snacks, as well as a hot BBQ lunch at the end. You'll also get a route map and a commemorative T-shirt.

50-K route (31 miles):
The 50-K route has two rest stops with water, fruit and snacks, as well as a hot BBQ lunch at the end.You'll also get a route map and a commemorative T-shirt. The route is an "out and back" and takes you from Sunnyvale to Portola Valley by meadows, lovely wooded areas and rolling hills. This is the perfect ride for the casual recreational cyclist.

Family Fun Ride (6 miles):
The 10K Family Fun ride is a wonderful way for parents with young children to participate in the Foothill and to spend the day with their family. The 10K ride will be self-contained within the neighborhood surrounding SPHDS. Participants will also get a route map and a commemorative T-shirt. The 10K ride will have a juice break at mile 3.

10:00-12:00pm Children’s Activities: For children who are not riding, we are offering wonderful activities here at the school. Challenging obstacle courses, tri-cycling and other fun activities for children on the playground and park.

Directions to the Event:

From 101, exit at 85 toward Los Altos. Exit at the Fremont Avenue/Los Altos exit. Go left onto Fremont Avenue and make the first right onto Bernardo. Go left on Astoria and into the parking lot. Additional parking can be found on the street.

From 280, exit at 85 toward Mountain View. Exit at the Fremont Avenue/Los Altos exit. Go right onto Fremont Avenue and make the first right onto Bernardo. Go left on Astoria and into the parking lot. Additional parking can be found on the street.

Where to Park:

Parking is limited on the SPHDS campus. Out of respect to our neighbors, we ask that you do not park on the street outside of the school. Parking is available in the parking lot on the corner of Fremont and Mary. Please park there and then ride over to the school (see attached map for directions).

Ride Supports:

Our rest stops will be stocked with water, fruit and snacks. Three rest stops are on the 100K route, while two rest stops are available for the 50K riders. For the family fun ride, a juice break will be at mile 3. SAG (Support And Gear) vehicles will be traveling throughout the course to provide assistance to riders. Our drivers will be able to repair mechanical breakdowns and transport riders to the finished area. A BBQ lunch will be provided for all participants at the finished area.

End of ride meal:

A delicious, hot, barbeque lunch awaits you at the end of your rides. The lunch is complimentary to those who have registered for the 100K, 50K and the 10K Family Fun Routes. Additional tickets for the barbeque may be purchased for $10 at the time of registration. Vegetarian options will be available.
