THE GALA WAS GLORIOUS
SPHDS' 36th anniversary gala was an evening filled with meaningful memories, fabulous food, entertaining emcee, renewed relationships and much more.
A detailed article with pictures from this fabulous event will be in the next issue of the Chai Lights.
A "HOT" FOOTHILL CENTURY
There were more than 400 stalwart cyclists who braved the hot weather to ride in our 4th Foothill Century, this past Sunday. From children to adults they overcame the heat with plenty of hydration and food, and wound up having a terrific ride. The bike ride ended with a delicious BBQ with chicken, hot dogs and the best hamburgers ever.
Many thanks to Lisa Sobel, Development Assistant, for organizing the event, down to the minutest details, and to Development Director, Sharon Dwek, though on maternity leave, she was very involved.
MISHKAN
The 5th garde class finished learning about the construction of the Mishkan in Chumash class. Each student compiled their very own Mishkan book complete with graphics and information about the Mishkan and all its vessels. As a culmination of this project, they had a very special siyum! At this siyum, each child had the opportunity to build an edible Mishkan.
