WELCOME TO SPHDS
When 3rd generation San Franciscan Beth Kurlan joined SPHDS’ faculty, this September, she felt right at home.
She graduated from Brandeis Hillel Day School, in San Francisco, and it was such a positive experience that Ms. Kurlan knew where she was headed – she wanted to become a teacher.
After a year of teaching in the Saratoga public school system, Ms. Kurlan realized how much she missed the environment of a day school and she wanted to return to one. “I am very happy to be part of the SPHDS community and love being in a day school atmosphere once again,” she said.
She received both her BA and teaching credential from Sonoma State University.
Ms. Kurlan has varied interests; she enjoys scrap booking, reading and traveling. She is a licensed professional make-up artist and a licensed aesthetician, though she no longer practices this.

PARENTS' ASSOCIATION NEWS
Fundraisers
We are in the midst of the school’s annual Sally Foster gift wrap and David’s Cookie Dough fundraisers. Remember to review the brochures that were sent home and return your orders by the Wednesday, November 7th deadline.
Your support of these two fundraisers will help the Parents' Association continue providing needed programming and equipment for our students and hosting the weekly Tuesday morning coffees for our parents.
Tuesday Morning Coffees Special thanks to Clara Bendayan for bringing the bagels, cream cheese and fruit for all to enjoy at this week’s coffee.
Remember, we need volunteers to pick up bagels either from Izzy’s in Palo Alto or Izzy’s in Sunnyvale . It will be easy if parents alternate the weekly pick-ups.
