KINDERGARTEN OPEN HOUSE/ICE CREAM SOCIAL
 On Sunday afternoon, October 28th, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., the school will have a Kindergarten Open House/Ice Cream Social for parents and their families who have children entering Kindergarten in September 2008.
Friends and family who have children entering Kindergarten next September are also invited to bring their children to the open house, please extend an invitation to them.
This is the opportunity to learn about our exceptional Kindergarten program; meet the teachers who lead this dynamic introduction to learning; and experience a “hands-on” presentation of the integrated curriculum that SPHDS offers – including science, math, Hebrew, music and Jewish Studies. Parents will also tour the campus visiting the library and the Benhamou Computer Center.
Socialize with other prospective parents who are looking for excellence in education for their youngsters and enjoy ice cream desserts.

SCHOOL PICTURES
Kindergarten – Grade 8 will have their pictures taken on Wednesday, October 24th and Gan Aviv will have their pictures taken on Thursday, October 25th.
Order forms will be distributed this Monday. Please contact the school office with any questions.
SPHDS MOVIE NIGHT AT THE SAN JOSE JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL
Book a babysitter or come with a friend and join parents and faculty for the screening of the Israeli Oscar winning movie “Aviva My Love,” at the San Jose Jewish Film Festival, Camera 12 Theater in San Jose, 201 So. 2nd Street. Theater phone number is: (408) 998-3300.
Following the movie we will gather for coffee, cake and conversation at Starbucks (details to follow).

BOX-TOPS WANTED
Remember to cut out box-tops and bring them to the school office; there is a labeled box to put them in. By participating, SPHDS will enrich our children’s education…each one of us makes a difference.

ANNUAL STUDENT MOVIE AND PIZZA NIGHT

PARENTS' ASSOCIATION NEWS
Board Meeting
The next Parents’ Association board meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 30th at 8:30 a.m. and everyone is welcome to attend. Please note that Parents’ Association meetings take place in the mornings.
Fundraisers
The Sally Foster gift wrap and David’s Cookie Dough fundraisers will be starting on Wednesday, October 24th. Detailed information will be coming home shortly.
Tuesday Morning Coffees
Special thanks to volunteer Alisa Preil who brought bagels and cream cheese to this week’s coffee.
We need volunteers to share the job of picking up bagels either from Izzy’s in Palo Alto or Izzy’s in Sunnyvale. It will be easy if parents alternate pick-ups and then submit the bill for reimbursement.
