LECTURE: KEEPING PRE-SCHOOLERS SAFE
Once again, Gan Aviv is presenting a series of lectures in parenting skills. Our first in this year’s series focuses on keeping pre-schoolers safe.
With adult guidance children can learn to develop basic safety skills that can assist them to stay safe with strangers as well as with people they know. These basic skills are the foundation of personal safety habits that can be of use for the rest of their lives.
Join us on Thursday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m. in the school’s Multi-purpose room.

Sukkot was celebrated traditionally by our students eating in their own sukkahs. The pre-kindergarten children joined the rest of the school by eating in the large school sukkah while rooms 1 – 3 ate their snacks in their own sukkahs.

PARENTS' ASSOCIATION NEWS
Coffees in the Sukkah
It was wonderful to see so many moms and dads in the sukkah last week for “Donuts with Dad” and “Muffins with Mom.” A good time was had by all.
Many thanks to Joelle, Andy and Aaron Pluemer for preparing the delicious fruit platters.
Board Meeting
The next Parents’ Association board meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 30th at 8:30 a.m. and everyone is welcome to attend. Please note that Parents’ Association meetings take place in the mornings.
Challah Orders
Now that the chagim are over, regular weekly challah deliveries will continue on Fridays. Our special thanks to David Mendel, Rebecca and Martin Handwerker for picking up the challah orders on the various weekday mornings, during the past few weeks.
Postponed
The Sally Foster gift wrap fundraiser has been postponed until the week of October 22nd; watch for details soon!
Tuesday Morning Coffees
The Tuesday morning coffees continue to be a special time for parents, staff and board members to socialize.
We do need volunteers to share the job of picking up bagels either from Izzy’s in Palo Alto or Izzy’s in Sunnyvale. It will be easy if parents alternate pick-ups and then submit the bill for reimbursement.
