CORRECTION – SUPER SUNDAY RETURNS TO PALO ALTO
After four years, the Jewish Community Federation’s Super Sunday is returning to Palo Alto this Sunday, November 19th. It will be an all day event from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
This campaign will have a dual purpose. The JCF’s regular campaign will help local agencies, including SPHDS, assist people and institutions in our South Bay communities; and there will be a secondary campaign to help Israelis through the Israel Emergency Campaign. When called to contribute please say “yes.”
Super Sunday will be held at Kehillah Jewish High School, 3900 Fabian Way, Palo Alto…it is centrally located and easy to reach. They still need volunteers - please call the Federaton office and leave a message for either Joy Plummer or Teresa Lanz. The Federation phone number is: 650 919-2100; Joy Plummer's extension is 8022 and Teresa Lanz's extension is 8005, or on Sunday call Kehillah's phone number 650 213-9600. No matter which number is called, just say you would like to volunteer for Super Sunday and someone will return the call, or on Sunday, just drop in and say "I am here to volunteer."
Our own Board President, Sherry Solden and SPHDS Kindergarten parent, Jackie Bocian, are co-chairing the South Bay Super Sunday. Yishar Koach to both of them.

SHABBATON
This past Shabbat the Middle School young women had a fabulous Shabbaton at the Palo Alto home of Rabbi Tuvia and Mrs. Chana Greenberg.
The students selected a Chinese theme and had a lot of fun with it. They had a delicious Shabbat “Chinese” dinner with “Chinese” chicken soup and noodles followed by stir fry, duck sauce chicken, fried rice and sesame noodles and used the correct large spoons and chop sticks during the meal.
Afterwards they had a wonderful workshop on “friendship” which was led by Mrs. Shona Schwartz. The girls really got into it. They discussed what it means to be a friend, a best friend and how to handle different friendship situations.
On Shabbat, in addition to tefillah, they did a skit that one of the students wrote. This was followed with a seudah and free time.
Many thanks to Mindy Cramer for buying the Chinese utensils; to Shona Schwartz for leading the workshop; to Chana Greenberg for preparing delicious food; and to Rabbi Tuvia and Mrs. Chana Greenberg for opening their home for a warm and wonderful Shabbat. A special thank you to Mrs. Greenberg for the fabulous Shabbat meals she prepared.
